Protection Ratings
EN 388
EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves' performance when used whilst working in and around mechanical machinery by measuring abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.
The EN 388 cut resistance test uses a single sharp implement to repeatedly pressure a glove in order to determine the amount of force required to cause visible and functional damage.
Standard | Resistance Rating |
Abrasion Resistance | Level 4 |
Cut Resistance | Level 5 |
Tear Resistance | Level 4 |
Puncture Resistance | Level 2 |
ISO Cut Resistance | Level C |

High Level Cut Resistance
Level C cut-resistance is an exceptionally high rating under the new EN 388 safety standards. The new system tests the glove by repeatedly slicing the gloves with a sharp implement that is replaced every few hundred cycles to avoid dulling the blade, which would curtail the accuracy of the test. A level C rating provides protection against cut hazards of up to 10 newtons, which equates to being slightly better than the traditional level 5 rating.
Why a Palm and Finger Coating?
A palm and finger coating differs from a full coating in a number of ways. Firstly, it is ideal for the professional who likes a lighter, more slender feel. Secondly, because the back of the glove remains uncovered, trapped air, perspiration and sweat are allowed to freely exit the glove, preventing skin irritation and odour build-up.
What Does a Reinforced Thumb Crotch Do?
When you're handling dense, heavy material, your gloves experience a great deal of strain. This is felt most in the thumb crotch area. ATG MaxiCut 44-3445 Safety Gloves bolster this area with flexible fabric to prevent rips, tears and splitting.
Breathable 360° Moisture Control
Comfort is always a top priority for anyone who works long days, especially in the summer months. Using patented micro-foam coating, the MaxiCut Palm Coated Gloves channel moisture and heat away from the skin to maintain the optimal temperature for work productivity.
Touchscreen Compatible
Think of how much time you could save if you didn't have to remove your gloves every time you access your work phone or tablet. When you add it all up, the time you save could be game-changing. Thanks to the MaxiCut Ultra Gloves' touchscreen compatibility, you can switch between your phone and the task without any interruption.
