Protection Ratings and Safety Standards
EN 388: Mechanical Resistance
EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves' performance when used for protection against mechanical machinery by measuring the fabric's abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.
The EN 388 cut resistance test uses a single sharp implement to repeatedly pressure a glove in order to determine the amount of force required to cause visible and functional damage.
Standard | Resistance Rating |
Abrasion Resistance | Level 3 |
Cut Resistance | N/A |
Tear Resistance | Level 4 |
Puncture Resistance | Level 2 |
ISO Cut Resistance | Level E |

Environmentally Friendly Design
Each and every pair of UCi Environmentally Friendly Work Gloves is made using recycled plastic that is sourced from landfills and recycling plants. Each glove offsets the equivalent of a 500ml plastic bottle sitting in landfill, which makes a huge impact on present and future global CO2 emissions output.
Save Your Hands and the Planet
Gloves made using plastic bottles feel and behave no differently to standard safety gloves. They're tested and accredited under the same EN 388 standard as all other safety gloves and they provide incredible protection that's built for use on rough and ready building and construction sites.
Single Use Plastic-Free Packaging
Nobody likes single-use plastics. Do your bit for the planet by avoiding products that use them. UCi are committed to designing and producing more and more environmentally friendly options to reduce the carbon footprint of their business and the end user.
What's So Special About Polyurethane?
Polyurethane is an incredibly flexible coating. This pliability is beneficial because it preserves dexterity and accuracy in the fingers.
A heavier glove does not allow a high degree of finger movement, thus reducing the users ability to perform precise and dexterous tasks when wearing it. A polyurethane coating has a lightweight feel to it that moulds the glove to the natural contour of your hand.
Lightweight, Flexible Design
If you're working with volatile and sharp material, you need gloves that allow precise and accurate handling at the fingertips. It's no good wearing gloves that are heavy and baggy, as you'll end up dropping things and causing an accident.
UCi EnviroCut Eco-Friendly Safety Gloves use a lightweight and slender 13gg liner to form a close grip around the hand. This means better purchase, a stronger grip and the ability to pick up and interact with minute, intricate material.
Level E Cut Resistance Rating
Cut Level E Gloves are great for use in areas where it's likely you'll come into contact with sharp metal, exposed glass and blades from time to time. Though they do not offer as much protection as our maximum rated Level F Cut-Resistance Gloves, they do offer a greater amount of flexibility and control for manual handling in building and construction settings.
