Performance and Protection Ratings
EN 388
EN 388 is a European regulation governing the sale of gloves used for safety and protection. It determines the gloves' performance when used for protection against mechanical machinery by measuring the fabric's abrasion, cut, tear and puncture resistance.
The EN 388 cut resistance test uses a single sharp implement to repeatedly pressure a glove in order to determine the amount of force required to cause visible and functional damage.
Test | Result |
Abrasion Resistance | Level 4 |
Cut Resistance | N/A |
Tear Resistance | Level 4 |
Puncture Resistance | Level 2 |
ISO Cut Resistance | Level F |
Impact Resistance | P |
EN 407
EN 407 is a European safety regulation governing the sale of gloves and garments that are resistant to any number of fire, heat and molten related hazards. Please view the table below to find out more:
Standard | Resistance Rating |
Burning Resistance | N/A |
Contact Heat Resistance | Level 1 (100°C) |
Convective Heat Resistance | N/A |
Radiant Heat Resistance | N/A |
Resistance to Small Molten Splashes | N/A |
Resistance to Large Molten Splashes | N/A |

How Do the Ardant IMPX Cut and Impact Resistant Gloves Protect Your Hands?
Ardant gloves have the maximum blade cut resistance and combine a Kevlar/Steel blend lining with a class-leading abrasion-resistant coating to provide layered, comprehensive protection. They also feature full reinforcement between the thumb and the forefinger, as well as a heat resistance of up to 100°C.
The outside of the gloves is also reinforced with thermoplastic rubber (TPR) to provide even more impact resistance.
Are UCi IMPX Gloves Impact Resistant?
Thanks to a robust and reliable thermoplastic rubber coating (TPR), the Ardant IMPX gloves are classified as impact resistant. This means that in the unfortunate event that objects, material, tools and equipment are dropped on your hands whilst wearing these gloves, the impact will be massively softened, preserving your hands and granting peace of mind as you work.
Protection from Dangerous Abrasions
Featuring a nitrate coating over the palm and reinforcement that extends over the bridge between the thumb and forefinger, the Ardant Gloves boast the maximum Abrasion resistance rating of 4.
Heavy Duty Protection in a Lightweight Package
The specially designed liner of the Ardant gloves is made of a Kevlar and steel blend that is lightweight while still remaining incredibly strong. This protects the wearer without excess padding, allowing them full and more dextrous use of their hands for complex tasks.
Handle Heated Material With Ease
Unlike other building and construction gloves, UCi Ardant Impact Gloves also allow you to handle heated material of up to 100 degrees with ease. This incredible versatility is excellent for mechanics, machinists and plumbers who regularly come into contact with heated pipes, machines and engine parts.
Unbeatable for Demolition Professionals
If you work in demolition, you'll know the value of impact-resistant gloves. The thermoplastic rubber mould on the back of these Ardant IMPX Safety Gloves shields the hand from damage, allowing you to safely handle rubble, equipment and tools with ease.
What Is Kevlar and Why Is It So Reliable?
Kevlar is a synthetic material manufactured by DuPont. It is a tightly woven collection of aramid fibres, spun until the bond formed between them is too tight to separate. It is used in cut-resistant clothing and gloves because the lack of gaps between the fibres means a blade cannot easily pierce or puncture it.
